Thank you, Area C. ❤️

Over the past few months, I’ve received an incredible number of messages asking me to run for another term.
One that stuck with me said:
“You are a rare diamond in a sea of sharks. I admire your integrity and courage and the way you stand up for your constituents.”
Those words meant a lot.
For the past eight years, it has been my privilege to represent BX and Silver Star. But Area C has never just been a boundary on a government map to me.
It’s where I grew up, hike, adventure, create, raise my family, meet neighbours and work alongside people who care deeply about this community.
You trusted me to speak up for Area C, find opportunities and deliver projects—while working hard to keep our local tax rates among the lowest in the region.
Together, we’ve accomplished a lot:
Invested in water and sewer infrastructure
Improved Mutrie and BX Dog Parks
Acquired and developed sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park
Created community gardens and an outdoor classroom
Secured Area C equal access to Vernon’s new Active Living Centre
Advanced the Greater Vernon Cultural Centre
Added speed readers, lighting and pathways to improve safety
Improved roads for active transportation
Worked toward greater water certainty in the BX
Added fire hydrants and strengthened fire protection
Upgraded street lighting—with residents helping determine what fits their neighbourhoods
Expanded connections between the BX and Grey Canal trail systems
Invested in FireSmart programs, fire halls and equipment
Supported community projects in BX and Silver Star
Built partnerships across Greater Vernon and the North Okanagan
And there is more underway.
Over the coming weeks, I want to tell you some of the stories behind these accomplishments. In local government, we often finish one project and immediately move on to solving the next problem. Sometimes we forget to celebrate what we accomplished together.
Because these aren't simply my successes.
They belong to Area C.
I’m asking for your trust again—and for the opportunity to keep standing up for this community and delivering results.
Let’s keep the momentum going.
And tell me in the comments: What would you like to see us accomplish next?
I still have a few ideas—and maybe a little magic—up my sleeve.
